Singapore’s Religious Places of Worship and Temples

Singapore is a multicultural, multiracial, cosmopolitan country. Of Singapore’s 5.3 million inhabitants, 74.2% are of Chinese ethnic background, 13.2% Malay, 9.2% Indian.

Mahayana Buddhism is the largest practised religion in Singapore. Singaporeans also follow other sects of Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism and Sikhism. Singapore also has its share of Atheist.

Singapore’s religious diversity is reflected in its places of worship and the religious festivals celebrated by its citizens.

 

Singapore has Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish places of worship. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a famous temple in Singapore.

Sri Thandayuthapani Temple (Chettiar Hindu Temple) Built in typical South Indian temple style, this impressive temple has an impressive roof, which has 48 engraved glass panels angled to catch the rising and setting sun.
